Hadi Zadeh Haghighi

Dr. Hadi Zadeh-Haghighi is a physicist specializing in quantum biology, quantum sensing, and quantum computing.
He holds a BSc in Nuclear Physics and MSc in Biophysics from the University of Tehran, followed by dual master's degrees in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from Paris-Saclay and Aix-Marseille Universities (Academy of Excellence Scholarship). He earned his PhD in Physics from the University of Calgary under Prof. Christoph Simon, investigating quantum spin effects in biology particularly in the brain via the radical pair mechanism. His doctoral work was highly productive and completed rapidly.

He remained in the same group for his postdoctoral fellowship, advancing quantum biology with a focus on magnetic field effects across diverse biological systems, proposing the widespread role of radical pairs in biology. During this time he also developed work in nitrogen-vacancy quantum sensing (for brain imaging) and brain-inspired neuromorphic quantum computing.

He later served as Research Associate in the Quantum Neurobiology Lab at the University of Waterloo, before returning to the University of Calgary as a Research Associate, where he continues research in, quantum biology and quantum artificial intelligence.
