Electromagnetically-induced transparency and squeezed light

We study electromagnetically-induced transparency (EIT) as a tool for slowing down and storing squeezed light. The experiments are conducted in rubidium vapour, and the squeezed vacuum state is prepared by means of an optical parametric amplifier. Full homodyne tomography of the squeezed vacuum pulse before and after the interaction with the EIT cell provides insight into the phenomena that degrade the storage fidelity.
